THE VILLAGE READ
How would you like to join Norfolk's newest and biggest reading group? Creative Arts East is working with the Norfolk Library Service to set up a reading group which won't be limited by how many teacups you can muster or the size of your sitting room. The Village Read is a unique reading group operating through your mobile library service, so even if you have difficulty getting out of the house, or find yourself surrounded by non-readers, you can still join in.
Books will be selected according to members' suggestions, and a new book will be chosen every four weeks. You can leave your comments either via our blog, which can be accessed via the Creative Arts East website www.creativeartseast.co.uk and follow the links via 'Literature Development' on the left hand menu. Alternatively, fill in one of the comments sheets in the mobile library and the librarian will file it for other readers to see. You can also make book recommendations via the blog or the comments file.
Every two months or so, we shall arrange author events where readers who want to get together face to face can meet in a local village hall to listen to a speaker and talk about their reading over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee.
If you like the sound of the Village Read, look out for membership forms in your library, on the mobile van or via the CAE website www.creativeartseast.co.uk
