The Edge of Love (15)
Thursday 13 November
2.30pm and 8pm
Director: John Maybury UK 2008 Running time: 126mins Starring: Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller, Matthew Rhys, Cillian Murphy
A beautifully drawn love story directed by the acclaimed Maybury (Love is the Devil), The Edge of Love revolves around two feisty, free-spirited women, Caitlin (Miller) and Vera (Knightley); Vera's husband, William (Murphy); and the brilliant, charismatic poet Dylan Thomas (Rhys) who loves both women. Broken promises, passion, betrayal, the shadow of war and the constant threat of imminent death push the protagonists to the edge of love. By no means a biopic in the traditional vein, the story explores the collision of the bohemian underworld with war-torn London, and the intimate complexities of two young couples whose lives and loves become dangerously intertwined

Director: various UK 1926 -1955. Running time: 82mins. Starring: various
Not so long ago housewives had a number of very good reasons to be desperate. Not only did they have to look after their families in an age of depression, war and austerity, but they did so without the consumer durables that we now consider essential. With humour frequently in its sights, Housewives' Choice is a programme of films from the BFI National Archive that explores the lives of British housewives from the 1920s to the 1950s. The programme includes documentaries, cinemagazines, propaganda films and adverts. It also features films by two of the women who helped to shape the British documentary movement of the 1930s and 40s - Ruby Grierson (1904-40) and Kay Mander (1915).

The Duchess (cert TBC)
Tuesday 25 November
2.30pm and 8pm
Director: Saul Dibb UK 2008 Running time: tbc Starring: Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes, Dominic Cooper
Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes pair up as an unhappy aristocratic couple in the 18th-century-set costume drama The Duchess. Knightley portrays the scandalous Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, in a film adaptation of the eponymous 1998 bestselling biography by Amanda Foreman. Georgiana was a socialite and celebrated beauty who maintained a famed literary salon, gambled her money away, and led a menage-a-trois with her husband and his mistress - who was also Georgiana's best friend. Partly filmed at nearby Holkham Hall and directed by UEA graduate Saul Dibb (Bullet Boy) The Duchess is a sumptuously shot account of the controversial aristocrat who has been described as the Princess Diana of her time.
