MA in Managing Creative Enterprises which Norwich School of Art and Design
The School has secured funding from the Higher Education Funding Council, supported by the East of England Development Agency, for this new MA. The course will help to meet the growing need for postgraduates with higher level education and skills in management and entrepreneurship, who can contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the creative and cultural sectors.
Course content will balance generic management knowledge and skills with case studies and projects which centre upon the particularities of these sectors. The course will have a work-related learning dimension and opportunities for self-negotiated study, enabling it to be undertaken in the workplace, if appropriate.

Essential Artists Training
Developed by Commissions East and delivered with the support of Business Link for Cambridgeshire, EAT is tailored for visual artists. It will provide you with:
skills to manage your money (particularly in relation to setting-up in business, self-employment and tax)
strategies to raise your profile and reach galleries, commissioners, dealers and the public
techniques to improve the presentation of yourself and your work
a structure to help you reach your goals
EAT is open to artists living or working in the East of England (Beds, Cambs, Essex, Herts, Norfolk and Suffolk). All the sessions are free, and will be held throughout the Autumn in venues around the East of England. Training Programme for Community Musicians Interested in Working with Schools
Key Stage 2 Music Continuing Professional Development Programme
From April The Open University and Trinity College London will be running a national continuing professional development (CPD) programme for music practitioners. The programme is designed to give professional support to all those involved in working with pupils in primary schools and particularly those involved in the delivery of whole-class instrumental and vocal music provision at Key Stage 2. It aims to improve all children's experience of music in school by encouraging delivery models which are inclusive, which encourage creativity, and which foster collaborations between music practitioners (including classroom teachers, instrumental/vocal teachers and community musicians.
The programme is particularly appropriate for practitioners working, or with plans to work, in schools which are benefiting from DfES funding for the expansion of Wider Opportunities programmes. It is for school based teachers, teachers working for music services and for community musicians or others working on a freelance basis. There is no direct cost to practitioners as this programme is funded by the DfES.

SKILLS 4 JOBS

SKILLS FOR JOBS is a new programme for anyone aged 19 or over who is unemployed and would like to develop the right skills to move into work. The scheme is run by the CLiP Consortium - a group of arts organisations and learning providers who have great experience and useful contacts to ensure this course is accessible and fun.

This scheme ie relevant to those on Incapacity Benefit or Jobseekers Allowance, lone parents trying to get back into work or people over 50 and if you are aware of anyone meeting this criteria, please do pass this on.

NORFOLK ARTS SERVICE/ NIACE TRAINING WORKSHOP

Norfolk Arts Service has commissioned NIACE (National Institute for Adult Continuing Education) to develop the one day training workshop on Mental health Awareness and Adult Learning and Skills for arts organisations, community arts groups and practitioners. This course which will explore the opportunities and challenges of developing arts-based approaches to working with people who experience mental health difficulties.
