Young PeopleFor more information, please contact: N.Y.C.S. is part of Norfolk Children's Services and they run a wide range of projects across the district. These include advice and information, meeting places for young people, mobile youth venues, schools projects, young carers Duke of Edinboroughs Award and Princes Trust XL projects for which they have just been awarded the delivery partner of the year. Connexions Connexions run a "One Stop Shop" in North Walsham for young people. They can get access to advice and information on employment, training, benefits and help putting together a professional C.V. The advisors will also offer support with any issues which affect a young person's opportunity to move from school to work or training. Things like housing and transport and they also have an extensive range of agencies which they can refer young people to. These include Off-Centre counselling, Matthew Project for drug and alcohol issues and other health and social care agencies. Connexions also have advisors who can come to see the young person if they are unable to travel to the centre. For more information visit talkaboutyou.org Youth Action Group North Norfolk District Council runs a Youth Action Group made up of young people from across North Norfolk. This group work with the council to offer a young peoples perspective on council decisions and to represent the views of their peers. The group is in the early stages and would welcome offers from local young people who would like to get involved. Rural Advice Project R.A.P. work with young people aged 13 - 19 and offer advice and information to young people and link in with 2 hostels for young people in North Walsham and Fakenham. 01692409040 YESU YESU have a drop in centre in Sheringham offering information and support for young people in the area and hosting various agencies in their centre for regular sessions on specialist issues.
