Fauna and Flora
The coastline of North Norfolk is well known for its nature and bird reserves, especially to the west. Holkham is the most geograpically west of the North Norfolk District Council's area. Beeston Common and The Glaven Valley are others of note.
The coast itself provides ample opportunity for exploration of rock pools and nature habitats and is used as an area of national importance with regards to its geographical history and examples. With this in mind we ask that visitors respect the area for the beauty it provides and acts to prevent deterioration of these habitats. Please make sure to replace any up-turned rocks you peek under when rock pooling, to protect the sheltering wildlife between tidal ranges. You may be changing the eco-system and ultimately the habitat of endangered species.
The removal of beach materials such as sand, pebbles and cliff material (as well as being illegal) may also be detrimental to habitats and affect coastal erosion and safety.
