North Norfolk District Council continues its exciting summer programme of family fun days for 2010 on some of our most beautiful Blue Flag Beaches.

Thursday 29th July Start 2pm – 3.30pm – Meet the rangers on the beach below the shop (rangers will be wearing dark green shirts) ‘I’m the king of the castle’’ at Mundesley beach. Build your own sand castle sculpture. Prize for best sand castle for different age categories. Make a king or queen crown. Face painting. Please wear suitable clothing for this sandy beach. Bring along a bucket and spade (a limited number will be provided). £1.00 per child

Monday 9th August Start 10.30am – 12.30pm – Meet the rangers in the NNDC car park Explore East Runton Beach Explore the beach with the rangers and learn about coastal erosion and tides. Why the cliffs are are disappearing and how it affects the local wildlife and people. Take part in your own geological experiment. Please wear suitable clothing. Free
Friday 27th August. Start 1.15pm – 4pm
Meet at 1.15pm at the West Runton beach car park, grid reference TG 184 432.
West Runton Geology Walk Explore magnificent Ice Age cliffs and the site of the famous West Runton Elephant.
Walks are suitable for adults and older children. Includes a steep walk and or rough terrain - suitable footwear must be worn.

Friday 27th August 1.30pm – 4pm – Meet the rangers by the Café Rock pool exploration at West Runton Beach Discover the colourful under water world of rock pools. Habitat study of the different creatures living in the rock pools from shrimps to seaweed, starfish to hermit crabs they are all there to be found on our sea shores. Bring along a net and bucket (a limited number will be provide) and become an intrepid explore of our shores. Please wear shoes, wellies that have a grip, suitable for walking in and out of rock pools. £1.00 per child

Please Note
  • Whilst every effort is made to keep to these dates and times, NNDC reserves the right to cancel or change any event at short notice. 
  • For ALL events children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 
  • Rangers will be wearing dark green shirts 
  • Please dress accordingly and wear sunscreen.
  • Please note there will be a charge for parking. 
  • Please wear shoes, wellies that have a grip, suitable for walking on beaches.
  • Dogs are not permitted in the blue flag areas on the beach.
