The Countryside Agency has a range of grants on offer including Vital Villages - which provides funding and advice so that people in rural communities and small market towns (Voluntary and community groups, Parish and Town Councils, parish transport groups, individuals and small businesses - including Village Shops and Village Pubs) can work out what they need locally and what to do to meet that need, Parish Plans - supporting the preparation of 1000 Parish or Town Plans in England, Community Services Fund - improving access and quality of services for rural people. Grants for private businesses, including village shops and garages are available. Parish Transport Grant Scheme - implementing small scale, local solutions to meet transport needs, Local Heritage Initiative - Helping people care for their local landscape, landmarks and traditions, Walking the Way to Health Initiative - aiming to improve the health and fitness of more than a million people and Doorstep Greens - helping 200 communities improve their quality of life.
