Here at North Norfolk District Council we are looking to the future. Our Corporate Plan and Financial Strategy require us to deliver better services for people across one of the UK’s most attractive but challenging places. At the heart of our ambitions is a drive to increase the commercialism of Council owned assets and the potential expansion of the property portfolio. We aim to boost income generation and maximize the return from our assets, both current and future.

Working within an in-house team of property professionals, you will be responsible for assisting with the operational management of a diverse freehold and leasehold estate. Depending on your experience, You will undertake a number of property related tasks such as lettings and property inspections, lease renewals, rent reviews, preparation of licences, asset valuations and other property related transactions. The property portfolio itself is diverse, including offices, industrial units, and leisure and resort facilities.

You will need to be able to manage your own case load and act on your own initiative. Your technical skills will be complimented by your professionalism, enthusiasm and autonomy.

This position attracts a golden hello incentive totalling £5000.

As a key member of the Assets and Leisure Management team, you will have impressive scope with which to build on your existing track record to make a real impact. Managing a small team, you will drive the development of an entrepreneurial approach to asset management and possess demonstrable experience in estates management at a strategic level.

Being a natural collaborator with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with high level influencing abilities, you will have developed a proven record of delivering property solutions within an organisation with a diverse property portfolio.

We are looking to recruit apprentice post(s) within our Housing Benefit/ Council Tax Support team. Through a programme of training and learning the post holder will acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to fully perform the role.

You will be trained to deal with all aspects of the administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support. This includes maintaining computerised records and dealing with routine claims, changes of circumstances, correspondence and customer enquiries over the telephone.

As well as gaining valuable work experience within Local Government you will work towards completing an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Business Administration. It is important that you have a good general standard of education, IT skills and an interest in working in a busy office environment in Local Government.

(*the rate of pay is for apprentices under 18, for those aged 18 – 20 the rate of pay is £5.13 per hour, and for those aged 21 and over £6.50 per hour)

At North Norfolk District Council, we are delivering a significant programme of Digital Transformation which will impact on every aspect of our organisation. It will deliver better value, quality and efficiency in all of our services across North Norfolk.

At the heart of that transformation is the development of a website which offers an engaging user experience to deliver fully transactional services covering all services.

To support this we are looking to appoint to two roles – one a web development back end role and one focused on making our website intuitive and customer-friendly.

One post will focus on front end development to deliver a standards based, high quality, and responsive user experience. You will be the implementing a structure and navigation which will assist users to access the services they require quickly and easily.

The second post will focus on the development of transactional based services which are fully integrated with back office systems and data. You will implement and extend standard frameworks as well as developing bespoke functionality to provide innovative solutions to business problems.

Both posts will require you to be flexible, adaptable and importantly, innovative in your approach to work. For both posts you will require good technical and interpersonal skills to turn business requirements into practical solutions.

Coaches and Volunteers wanted!

Our Community Sports Team is seeking North Norfolk based sports coaches and activity instructors to join its coach register.  Coaches on the register will be utilised as and when the need arises to help to deliver the Community Sports Teams current and future provision of sporting and physical activity opportunities to the community.  We would be delighted to hear from anybody who wishes to be included on this register.

We are also seeking to add to our pool of volunteers and would love to hear from anybody who may be interested in helping us to deliver our service to the community on a voluntary basis.  A volunteer role with us would suit those who are looking to gain experience in the sports and leisure industry and people with a strong belief in community and community based activities.

Please note volunteers will be required to undertake a satisfactory criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB).
