The only surviving town gasworks in England and Wales, complete with all equipment used for the manufacture of gas from coal: retorts, condenser, purifiers, meter, gasholder. Displays of lighting, heating, cooking and domestic equipment.

Admission FREE but donations welcome.

Open all year on Thursdays 10.30am-1pm
June-August: Open Thursday & Saturday 10.30am-3.30pm
August: Also open Sunday 10.30am-1.00pm
Bank Holiday Mondays: Open 10.30am-3.30pm

Group visits at other times are possible

Full access to Gas Museum
Restricted access to Local History Section
Free parking nearby (50 metres away)
One disabled parking space on site
Toilets accessible to wheelchair users
