Get a Taste for Learning in Cromer![]() Copyright NNDC Cromer people can find out about the learning opportunities open to them through the European-funded Learning for Life project at an Enrolment and Learning Taster Day in the town next month.
Three free taster sessions are being run on Tuesday, 10 September, at the WI Hall in Garden Street, so people living in the Cromer Town and Suffield Park wards can see just a few of the ways they can boost their skills and confidence - and their employment prospects - through learning. Many other courses are also available, from computing and accountancy to yoga and life drawing, and people can sign up for these at the Taster Day.
The courses are being run by Paston College, Norfolk Adult Education Services, Prince's Trust Volunteers and others on behalf of Cromer Learning for Life. The £239,000 Learning for Life project is part of the wider Cromer Regeneration scheme, and is part-financed by the European Social Fund.
Courses starting in Cromer in the coming months include Sage computerised accounts (24 weeks from 10 September), New CLAIT (a computing qualification, 24 weeks from 20 September and again from 7 October), interior design (34 weeks from 16 September), a Prince's Trust Volunteers Personal Development Programme for 16-25-year-olds (12 weeks from 23 September), web page design (three weeks from 7 October), and desktop publishing (three weeks from 4 November). Cromer Learning for Life has a project shop at 10 Bond Street, where people can find out what is available, and how they can apply. The shop is open 10am-3pm Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10am-1pm on Thursdays. Anyone interested can also call the shop on (01263) 519454 or email cromerlearning@tiscali.co.uk.
