Reminder - Changes to Refuse Collections in Cromer

and Easter collection arrangements for the whole District

16 March, 2005

People who live in the centre of Cromer are asked to remember that their rubbish collection arrangements have changed and that, like the rest of the District, their collections now alternate between recyclables one week, and normal household rubbish the next.

Many parts of Cromer town centre continued using the old collection arrangements, even after the introduction of the new Twin Bins scheme across the rest of North Norfolk, until late last month while NNDC sorted out access difficulties in Cromer's narrow streets.

Now, though, people living on the following roads will normally have their waste and recyclables collected on alternating Tuesdays:

Tuesday collection

Bond Street

High Street

Brook Street

Jetty Street

Brunswick Terrace

Louden Road

Cambridge Street

Mount Street

Chapel Street

New Street

Church Street

Promenade

Corner Street

Surrey Street

Cross Street

The Gangway

Garden Street

Tucker Street

Hamilton Road

West Street

Hans Place

However, because of the Easter holidays at the end of this month, the next three collection dates for those areas are therefore:

  • Tuesday, 22 March - for grey bin/black sacks
  • Wednesday, 30 March - for green bin/recyclables sacks (delayed because of Easter)
  • Tuesday, 5 April - for grey bin/black sacks (back to normal after Easter).

Collections elsewhere in North Norfolk that were due on Good Friday, 25 March, will be made on Saturday, 26 March. Then, the following week, all collections across the District will be a day later than usual (including Saturday 2 April) while the contractors catch up after the Bank Holiday Monday.

Cromer residents are asked to ensure that wheeled bins or sacks are only placed on the edge of their property either on the morning of collection or the evening before.
