Cromer Pier Reopens for Business15 November, 2007Cromer Pier has reopened for business following the repair of damage caused by the storm surge and high tide of 9 November. There is full access to the Pavilion Theatre, although parts of the pier will remain fenced-off until additional repairs have been undertaken. North Norfolk District Council, which owns and is responsible for the maintenance of the pier, will commission this additional work as soon as possible over the next few weeks. Now the pier has reopened everyone is once again able to visit the Pavilion Bar (open daily 10am - dusk, later on Show days), Tides Restaurant and Footprints Gift Shop, and of course just to take a stroll on one of the country's best loved and most famous piers. Ian Hall, General Manager, said, "I am very pleased to say we are now open for business again. This last week has been very difficult for us and I wish to pass on my sincere thanks to North Norfolk District Council and their contractors for their prompt response and hard work over the past few days. I am very pleased to report that despite all the problems we managed to keep the Box Office open so we were still able to take bookings for Christmas Seaside Special, which opens on 6 December." ENDS
