North Norfolk District Council will request some detailed changes are made to proposed development sites in six towns and villages, and will ask the public for their views in the New Year.
North Norfolk District Council will request some detailed changes are made to proposed development sites in six towns and villages, and will ask the public for their views in the New Year.
In the summer of 2009, NNDC consulted residents (and other interested parties) over its Site Specific Proposals Draft Plan — a plan for allocating land for housing, employment, open spaces, town centre developments, community facilities and new car parks in settlements across the District. The proposals are part of the Local Development Framework, a portfolio of documents that make up the District’s planning policies governing development until 2021.
In the light of people’s comments in the summer, NNDC is suggesting key changes to the Site Specific Proposals for:
• Sheringham
• Stalham
• Aldborough
• Briston
• Little Snoring
• Weybourne.
A six-week consultation on these changes begins on 5 January, 2010 (and runs until 16 February).
The intended changes are detailed in the Site Specific Proposals ‘Schedule of Key Changes’. To see this document, please visit the Council’s website at www.northnorfolk.org/ldf from 5 January. Please note that North Norfolk District Council will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period, and we will not be available to answer your questions until the consultation starts.
Paper copies will also be available for inspection at:
• North Norfolk District Council Office, Holt Road, Cromer
• Fakenham Connect, Oak Street, Fakenham
• Holt, Fakenham, Stalham, Sheringham and Aylsham libraries.
To make a comment you must either use the online consultation portal at http://consult.north-norfolk.gov.uk or complete a comments form, available from council offices or by contacting the Planning Policy Team using the details below.
An exhibition will be held at Stalham Town Hall Tuesday, 12 January from 3-7pm where officers will be able to answer questions about the proposed changes, including a new proposal for providing employment land in Stalham.
The Site Specific Proposals, the suggested changes, any comments made during the January/February consultation, and all responses from the summer consultation will be submitted to the Planning Inspector for examination.
If you have any queries about the ‘Key Changes’ consultation or the Local Development Framework as a whole, please contact a member of the Planning Policy Team on 01263 516318 or email planningpolicy@north-norfolk.gov.uk
