Developed by North Norfolk District Council in partnership with Orchestras Live and local community organisations, ‘Orchestras Live North Norfolk’ is a season of top-quality orchestral concerts, featuring music from around the world and across the centuries. The season begins on Saturday 23 June – the first of three dates to be performed by some of the country’s most highly-regarded touring orchestras.

Following its outstanding performances in Holt and Sheringham last year, the Orchestra of the Swan will open the 2012 season in St Catherine’s Church, Ludham. In July, sinfonia Viva will be perfoming at the Auden Theatre in Holt (as part of the town’s festival week), and in September the London Mozart Players complete the season at St Botolph’s Church in Trunch.

The exceptional musicians from these chamber orchestras will perform pieces dating from the 17th Century to the new work by Tunde Jegede co-commissioned by sinfonia ViVA and Orchestras Live for performance this year. We also welcome soloists Chloe Hanslip and David Le Page along with cellist Matthew Barley and dancer Bode Lawal who open the sinfonia VIVA concert with an intriguing combination of solo cello and choreography set to a specially chosen movement from a Bach Cello Sonata.
