Planning Committee

Planning Committees at North Norfolk District Council decide planning applications.

Following a reduction in planning applications as a result of the economic slowdown, the Council is to combine its two planning committees for a trial period from 1 January 2010.

The move will see the temporary creation of a Combined Development Control Committee consisting of all the District Councillors who previously sat on the Area Development Control Committees (East and West).  The Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the previous two Committees will share chairing duties at the Combined Committee meetings.

During the trial period, meetings of the new Combined Development Control Committee will take place at least every four weeks, subject to workload. At the end of the period a review will take place to decide whether the new committee format should be continued or whether to revert to the previous structure.

UPDATE
A new structure for the Development Control Committee has been agreed by the Council.  With effect from 8 July 2010, one Committee comprising fourteen Councillors will cover the whole of the North Norfolk District Council area.  The Committee will meet on a four-weekly cycle.

The trial Combined Committee arrangements will continue until the new Committee comes into effect.

On each of the Committee pages below, you will find a link to the names of committee members, and a list of imminent or recent meeting dates. Click on the dates for the documents relating to those meetings.  From 2010 the results will be added to both the West and East Committee pages.
