Tourism Study

A study to examine the likely future trends for the local tourist industry was carried out by Scott Wilson consultants and received in November 2005. This examines drivers for change in the industry and proposes how new policies in the Core Strategy may support and promote local tourism.

Following comprehensive research and consultation into the tourism sector within the district the report provides:

  • an appraisal of the key assets and appeal of North Norfolk as a tourism destination
  • an audit of the tourism assets including attractions, accommodation and amenities
  • a review of the value of tourism in terms of numbers, value and jobs supported
  • an assessment of the current market and future market trends
  • a review of planning policy relating to tourism

The study has been published in two parts: Overview & Recommendations and Background Reports and is available for viewing or download below.
