Following the enormous success of the inaugural down to earth exhibition, Salthouse 02, entitled on the edge, featured twelve leading contemporary Norfolk artists exploring the margin between land and sea. on the edge was curated with assistance from Amanda Geitner of the Sainsbury Centre, Norwich and ran from 22 August to 22 September 2002. Opened by Amanada Geitner of the Sainsbury Centre, the exhibition included four major paintings by the late Anthony Benjamin, internationally acclaimed artist from Kelling.
on the edge was supported by North Norfolk District Council and Norfolk County Council, and sponsored by East Wind Films, Thaxters of Holt and the John Jarrold Trust.

The supporting programme of events was extended and included:
• Paul Jackson storytelling in Salthouse Churchyard
• Sophie Hannah poetry and jazz in Salthouse Church
• Bridge Theatre drama entitled "Woman on the Edge" at Sheringham Little Theatre and The Granary Theatre, Wells
• Marilyn Shenton photographic exhibition at Sheringham Little Theatre Gallery
• Mary Lincoln revue at The Granary Theatre, wells
• The Mighty Earthlings poetry at Salthouse Church
• Dunham Singers early music at Salthouse Church
• Samia Malik vocal music at Salthouse Church
• Artists' Forum in Salthouse Church
• A special ensemble of outstanding classical musicians, called on the edge ensemble, also came together for a one-off performance in Salthouse Church. Supported by Eastern Orchestral Board, North Norfolk District Council, Sound Sense and East England Arts, on the edge ensemble is still giving performances to this day, and returned to Salthouse in 2005.
• NNEP also co-promoted, with Rural Arts East, paper works in Corpusty Village Hall, an exhibition of works in paper by Liz McGowan, Vanessa, Godfrey, Kirsty Illingsworth and Les Bicknell with associated community activities.

In addition to a programme of schools workshops, adult art and craft workshops were run at the British Columbia Hall in Salthouse by:
