Salthouse 06
The sixth annual exhibition of some of the best of Norfolk contemporary art, mounted by the North Norfolk Exhibition Project, ran from 6th July - 6th August 2006. Again the stunning church on the North Norfolk coast was the venue for a show of completely new works that crossed the boundaries between art and craft. Traditional materials or techniques were fused with new ideas and approaches.
-
Salthouse 06 was curated by Sarah Cannell, Arts Development Manager for Targetfollow, who chose forty-seven exhibitors all either living or working in Norfolk. Work was displayed both inside and outside the church.
-
The exhibition was opened by Susan Tuckett (Principal of Norwich School of Art and Design) with guest appearance by Horses Brawl (contemporary folk-inspired instrumental trio), who performed the Norfolk premiere of "Writing on the Wall" by Anna Meredith.
-
Salthouse 06 was funded by North Norfolk District Council, Awards for All, Norfolk County Council and Arts Council England East, and supported by Targetfollow, Whin Hill Cider, The C21 Shop, Cley Poetry Circle, Virgo Energy PLC, Sowerbys Estate Agents and Sheringham Little Theatre
