Mobile Gym and Walking Day
Enjoy guided walks around the park and find out about other health walks happening in your area
£1 per person for the gym (over 11s only)
It is required that a medical form be completed before using the gym
Wednesday 13th February 10am-12pm and 1-3pm
Make Your Own Bird Boxes
Come and enjoy a walk around the park and see how many different types of birds you can spot, before coming back to the Visitors Centre to make a bat or bird box and a fir cone bird feeder
£1 per child plus £3 if you would like to take your bird box home

The Vikings in Norfolk
Come and help local artist Maggie Campbell to reconstruct our Viking Longboat using living willow withies; and discover more about the Viking influence in East Anglia with Community Librarian, Alan Leventhall. Take part in our Viking-inspired competition with prizes for the most imaginative drawings and inspirational poems

Mobile Gym and Frisbee Golf
Enjoy a walk around the park with a difference, playing "Frisbee Golf". Go round the course totting up your scores - a game of golf with a difference! You will need to bring your own Frisbee, preferably one per player. The Mobile Gym returns, inviting people over 11 years to try out the equipment

A Feast of Fungi!
Celebrating the arrival of newly-commissioned sculptures by artists Jessica Perry and Colin Yorke
Come and join us in our mushroom madness: make and decorate your own mushroom using clay and plaster with Jess Perry; warm up with some home-made mushroom soup; marvel as sculptor, Colin Yorke, demonstrates his art; and be transformed as Paul Jackson tells magical mushroom tales in his Mongolian Yurt. Stretch your legs and your brains by taking part in our quiz trail dedicated to the magical, mythical world of mushrooms with prizes for the mushroom maestros!

Enjoy a walk around the park whilst discovering the answers to a Spring Quiz, returning to the Visitors Centre for an egg and the answers. Help make a "many-hands" spring picture, a basket for your egg and a "spring" lamb

Fools Day with Circus Avago!
Presented by Magic Carpet Theatre
Roll Up! Take part in Circus Avago - starring YOU! Try juggling, unicycling, rola-bola, diabolo, clowning, tumbling and loads more in this action-packed event for all ages. It's total participation and non-stop fun for everyone, your chance to be a circus star, and maybe even lie on a bed of nails!

Great Fire of Holt 1708 Celebration
Did you know that, on May Day 1708 "there happened a sudden and lamentable Fire at Holt…?
To commemorate this historic event, we are hosting an evening celebration featuring period music and dancing, fire-eating, lantern-making and parade, traditional refreshments, Hog Roast and locally-brewed ales by Yetmans, and fireworks
Prizes for the best period costume on the night, child and adult categories
Bring a torch!

Pick up a bag at the Visitors Centre and go for a stroll in the woods to collect items from your scavenger checklist; then return to base to make masks and wands using items collected on you hunt

Let's Go Fly A Kite!
Join our team of rangers in designing, making and ultimately flying your own kite on the blowy bump at Beeston. Prizes for the best flyer, best design and the most colourful and original kites

For Holt Country Park, all events start from the Visitor Centre. Please wait for the rangers or group leaders. Do not enter wood unless you know exact location of event and that it has not been cancelled. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please keep dogs on leads during events. Toddlers have free entry to all events. We advise to bring pushchairs for tiny tired feet. Please wear suitable outdoor clothes.

Bacton Wood Events
Bacton Wood events start from the main car park. Please wait for rangers or group leaders to guide you. Only enter wood if you know exact location of event. For all events, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Toddlers have free entry to all events. We advise to bring pushchairs for tiny tired feet. Please wear suitable outdoor clothes. Please keep dogs on leads during events. There are no toilets at Bacton Wood, however North Walsham town is less than 5 minutes drive away.
