We are looking to recruit apprentice post(s) within our Housing Benefits/ Council Tax Support team. Through a programme of training and learning the post holder will acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to fully perform the role.

You will be trained to deal with all aspects of the administration of Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support. This includes maintaining computerised records and dealing with routine claims, changes of circumstances, correspondence and customer enquiries over the telephone.

As well as gaining valuable work experience within Local Government you will work towards completing an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Business Administration. It is important that you have a good general standard of education, IT skills and an interest in working in a busy office environment in Local Government.

(*the rate of pay is for apprentices aged 25 and over, for those aged 21 – 24 it is £7.05 per hour, for those aged 18 – 20 it is £5.60 per hour, and for those under 18 it is £4.05 per hour).

Employment is subject to a satisfactory Baseline Personnel Security (BPSS) check, which includes a verification of unspent criminal records.
