We are looking for a highly organised individual with a good understanding of the political nature of local government to work at the decision-making heart of the Council.

Applicants will be expected to have thorough knowledge of the law and practice relating to committee meetings and experience of supporting committees within a political environment. We therefore require someone with outstanding all-round communication skills, tact and diplomacy. Knowledge of how Overview & Scrutiny Committees operate would be beneficial.

You will be joining a small but busy team and as well as producing agendas and minutes for the Council’s formal meetings you will support the scrutiny function by undertaking research, analysing findings and drafting reports for scrutiny reviews. You must therefore possess excellent administrative, writing and IT skills. If you want to be part of an enthusiastic and forward thinking team, with a varied and challenging workload - we would like to hear from you.

Please note this is a politically restricted post.
