The new post of Energy Officer is a key role to help reduce fuel poverty and reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions in the district.  This is a varied and challenging role, the Energy Officer will:

  • Identify eligible low-income households and help them apply for energy efficiency improvement works.
  • Deliver energy related objectives in the Council’s housing strategy.
  • Work with partner organisations including RPs, private sector landlords and country estates to improve energy efficiency in rented housing in the district.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and initiative to manage multiple tasks and to deliver objectives on time.  Knowledge of energy efficiency improvement works to existing properties will be an advantage.
