You will be positive, enthusiastic and forward thinking, ideally with an RTPI recognised degree or diploma in planning or, educated to degree level with practical experience in development management within a local planning authority setting. However, for those candidates without an RTPI recognised degree or practical experience but can demonstrate the right attributes and approach and are willing to undertake the necessary qualifications, we can offer a Trainee Planning Officer role which will provide the successful candidate with an RTPI recognised degree.

For the Trainee Planning Officer role, experience in a local government or planning environment would certainly be an advantage. There are 2 levels in the role, your appointment will depend on your level of experience and/or qualifications. (Level 1 - £20,903 - £22,627 per annum; Level 2 - £23,080 - £25,991 per annum).
