North Norfolk District Council ward councillor Andrew Wells, who represented the Glaven Valley Ward, has resigned from the authority
Mr Wells, who was elected in May 2015, stepped down from the district councillor post with effect from Tuesday August 16, 2016.
Mr Wells has been a post-graduate law student at UEA for the past year and has accepted a job offer with law firm Allen and Overy in London
Mr Wells said: “This has been an agonising decision and I am disappointed to be stepping down at this point. But I will keep working for residents in my ward to the best of my ability until a new councillor can be elected.
“It has been a privilege to represent the Glaven Valley as a councillor, and I am grateful to everyone who has worked with me to get things done for our community over the past 18 months.”
The ward includes Blakeney, Morston, Wiveton, Field Dalling, Saxlingham, Letheringsett, Glandford, Brinton, Sharrington, Thornage, Stody and Hunworth.
