According to a table of council collection rates across Norfolk, North Norfolk District Council collects more than 99% of business rates.

Officers at NNDC have been working hard to ensure collection levels for both business rates and council tax across the district are high and making it as easy as possible for residents to keep up to date with council tax payments.

The table published for the county shows NNDC has the highest collection levels of any Council in Norfolk for non-domestic rates or business rates and had collected an impressive 99.3% for 2015/16.

The table also put North Norfolk District Council second in the county for collection of council tax at 98.6%.

Cllr Wyndham Northam Cabinet Member for financial services said: “We do understand there are sometimes occasions when circumstances can change and paying council tax or business rates can drop down people’s priority list. Paying rates and council tax is the right thing to do and is a legal requirement, so the fact NNDC, our businesses and our residents are up at the top of the league table is a super achievement.”

NNDC offers residents and businesses access to ebilling, online services, text alert reminders, Direct Debit over a variety of payment dates, barcoded bills and a 24-7 automated payment line to suit different needs.
