The Chairman of North Norfolk District Council Cllr John Lee will lead a short service to celebrate Commonwealth Day.
A short service will take place on March 13 by the flagpole at NNDC’s Holt Road, Cromer offices followed by the raising of the Commonwealth flag.
Last year on Commonwealth Day, more than 850 Commonwealth Flags were raised in locations throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, UK Overseas Territories, and Commonwealth countries.
Cllr John Lee said: “I am proud for North Norfolk District Council to join so many Commonwealth communities around the world raising our flags on March 13. Together we mark our membership of this important organisation of nations and our commitment to its shared goals.”
The event helps to celebrate the values the Commonwealth upholds, and the opportunities offered for friendship and cooperation with fellow Commonwealth citizens around the world.
If you would like to attend, please gather by 9.50am near NNDC’s flagpole at its Cromer HQ for a short reading and the raising of the Commonwealth Flag.
