North Norfolk District Council has been proud to be part of a project to install an accessible piece of play equipment at a play park in Sheringham.
The Council supported the ‘Viking Ship’, named after former Sheringham town crier Tony Nelson, who died last year, with £10,000 grant from its Big Society Fund. The Council’s Property Services team also supported the Sheringham Playpark Revamp group with the procurement process to help them get the project off the ground.
The Ship was decorated by children from Woodfields School in Sheringham; the children had fun working with local artist Colin Seal to paint the Viking shields.
North Norfolk District Councillor, Judy Oliver attended the launch, said: “It is just fantastic, it’s a real community project.”
