eastlaw shortlisted for prestigious award

North Norfolk District Council’s (NNDC) award-winning legal team, eastlaw, has made it to the finals of the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2018 (formerly known as the Halsbury Legal Awards).

eastlaw shares the shortlist with three exceptional legal teams; GLD (Government Legal Department) Grenfell Tower Team, MVF Legal Team and Reprieve.

A number of leading figures from the legal profession and beyond have been selected to form the judging panel. The ‘In-House Team of the Year’ award acknowledges the tremendous importance of work done by the legal teams of companies and bodies other than law firms, including those in the public sector.

The concept of eastlaw was developed by NNDC’s legal team itself to deliver services both in-house and on behalf of external clients. eastlaw’s innovative and agile approach has not only secured it position as a value for money, specialist legal service which is efficient, effective and highly regarded, it has been recognised nationally with a number of prestigious awards.

Cllr. Judy Oliver, North Norfolk District Council’s Cabinet Member for Legal Services, said: “Congratulations to eastlaw and yet another, well deserved accolade. Being shortlisted this prestigious award is testament to the team’s excellent track record of service to the Council and to other public sector partners and I, and my colleagues wish them the best of luck for the finals”. 

The winners of the award will be announced on 15 March at a ceremony in London.
