North Norfolk District Council has awarded £4,500 from its Arts and Culture Fund to a range of projects from a Community Choir to an art exhibition project.
The Arts and Culture Fund was launched just over a year ago and has so far awarded over £32,000 to 22 projects in North Norfolk.
The aim of the fund is to provide vital funding to community projects whose activities, services or events will improve the health and wellbeing of the people of North Norfolk through active participation in visual, literary and performing arts.
At the last Arts and Culture Fund Panel meeting, a total of £4,599 was awarded to support the following projects:
- Mundesley Community Choir (£1,000) – to purchase additional music, venue hire, insurance and advertising for new members.
- Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society (£1,169) - to expand the membership numbers by offering three events to allow members of the public to come along and have a go at singing in a choir.
- North Norfolk Exhibition Project (£2,430) – to put on 8 workshops, 2 talks, an accompanied walk, 5 evening events and 2 performances to help exhibit local artists.
The Arts and Culture Fund is open all year round for applications. The cut-off date for applications to go to the next panel is 25 October 2019.
