North Norfolk District Council has taken over operational management of the Millers Walk Car Park in Fakenham, which will reopen for public use from June 29.
The Council has agreed to take over management of the car park, previously managed by a private company, on behalf of the landowner and as part of an on-going contractual agreement with King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council.
Parking will be free for the first two hours and thereafter charged at £1.00 for 2 hours and 70 pence for each following hour. Parking for 24 hours will be cost £5.
Please note North Norfolk District Council parking permits will not be valid on this privately-owned car park - but there is ample capacity for permit-holders at other NNDC car parks in Fakenham, which are situated at:
- Bridge Street
- Queens Road
- Highfields Road
- Community Centre
- The Limes
Fakenham South Councillor and Leader of the Independent Group of North Norfolk District Council, John Rest, commented: “NNDC are pleased to have secured the contract to manage this public car park at Millers Walk on behalf of the landowner. At the landowner’s request there will be slight operational differences with this site against the other NNDC car parks, so I urge members of the public to familiarise themselves with the notices.”
