New Budgens to open in Holt

Date published: 20th November 2020
In welcome news, NNDC is pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for the erection of a temporary store in Holt, to service the town while the new Budgens shop is built.
The original store sadly burnt down in June 2020, and was the only supermarket in the area and also housed the local Post Office. It is expected that the temporary store will open to the public on November 23rd 2020.
Phillip Rowson, NNDC’s Head of Planning, commented: “We have been pleased to work with the applicant, and it is a credit to the team who have worked extremely hard to get this turned around to ensure permission can be granted with reasonable expectations that people can shop there in a safe and secure way, while enjoying a bit of a return to normality to the way they shop.”
The temporary store retains planning permission until January 2022, with the new permanent store expected to be open December 2021.
