Support for newly shielding residents

Date published: 17th February 2021
The Government have announced an expansion to the shielded list, with an extra 1.7 million additional people nationally required to shield.
The Shielded Patient List now includes more people thought to be at a high risk of complications from COVID-19.
If you have received a letter from the Government and are required to shield, you’re strongly advised not to attend work, school, college or university. You can read the guidance on who counts as clinically extremely vulnerable.
There is support available for you if you must shield.
If you need help with things like accessing supermarket delivery slots, prescription collection, befriending, loneliness and wellbeing support, please call Norfolk County Council on 0344 800 8020 and select option 1, then option 4. Alternatively, you can email info@norfolk.gov.uk stating “Shielding Support” in the subject title of your email.
You can contact North Norfolk District Council’s COVID-19 support lines on 01263 516000 or email nndccovid19@north-norfolk.gov.uk
