Businesses, community groups, charities, town and parish councils are being invited to a workshop that will offer guidance and tips on how to write successful grant applications and funding bids.

The free event, being hosted by North Norfolk District Council’s Economic Growth Team, will look at:
• Key principles of bid writing
• Effective communication – writing styles & presentation guidance
• Meeting the funders’ objectives
• How to show you are making a difference
• Why applications fail

Cllr Nigel Dixon, NNDC’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development & Business, said: “There are quite a few pitfalls to be aware of when applying for funding that can result in your application getting declined automatically. It can be as simple as just going over the word count in the application.

“This workshop will give businesses and other organisations the chance to pick up some top tips and learn how to spot potential pitfalls – valuable skills to have if you want to maximise your chances of submitting a successful bid.”

The event will be held at NNDC’s Holt Road offices on Wednesday, May 16, at 1.30pm. Places can be booked by emailing grants@north-norfolk.gov.uk or calling 01263 516009.
