North Norfolk businesses are being encouraged to show off their produce at the region’s largest food and drink trade show.
Local Flavours, which will be held at the Norfolk Showground on Wednesday, September 26, will give food and drink producers the chance to show off their wares to buyers from the hospitality, catering, food retail and tourism sectors. The buyers will be both local and from further afield, with multi-national buyers as well as owners of smaller operations such as delis, farm shops and cafes.
North Norfolk District Council is supporting the event, and food and drink businesses based in the district that have not previously exhibited at Local Flavours can enjoy a discount if they take a stand.
Cllr Nigel Dixon, Conservative Portfolio Holder for Economic Development at NNDC, said: “We always support this annual event as it’s a prime opportunity for the many excellent food and drink-related businesses in North Norfolk to showcase their products and services.
“It brings together the vast range of suppliers and local specialisms so that they get maximum exposure to hugely influential buyers from across the consumer sectors.”
Cllr Nigel Lloyd, Lib Dem Shadow Portfolio Holder for Economic Development at NNDC, said: “North Norfolk has plenty of successful food and drink outlets, many of which use high-quality ingredients sourced locally. I am happy to support this event and wish our local businesses every success.”
Cllr John Rest, Leader of the Independent Group at NNDC, said: “These events are always a pleasure to support. We are very fortunate in North Norfolk to have an abundance of good quality, value-for-money food and drink businesses, whose products and reputation contribute to our growth in local economy and tourism.”
