Coronavirus cases are rising rapidly across the country. Find out what you can and cannot do.
The food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority. The food hygiene rating is not a guide to food quality.
If you are a business and you are not happy with your rating, there are a number of safeguards to ensure the scheme is fair.
They include an appeals procedure, a 'right to reply', and an opportunity to request a re-visit when improvements have been made to be reassessed for a new rating.
Further information can be found on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website at Food hygiene ratings for businesses. Please note, if you want to use any of the forms from their website, please ensure you send them back to us, not the FSA.
