Q and A - What Do You Think?
The food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority. The food hygiene rating is not a guide to food quality.
If you are a business and you are not happy with your rating, there are a number of safeguards to ensure the scheme is fair.
They include an appeals procedure, a 'right to reply', and an opportunity to request a re-visit when improvements have been made to be reassessed for a new rating.
If you want to ask for a revisit please fill in and print off the request re-visit form and send it back to us.
Further information can be found in the FSA's 'Food Hygiene Rating Scheme' leaflet'. If you wish to use any of the forms from the leaflet, please ensure you send them back to us, not the FSA.
