Local groups reap the rewards from our Arts and Culture, Community Transport and North Norfolk Sustainable Communities Grant Funds
We have awarded more than £209,500 from the three funds between 2020 and 2021.
The panels of the Arts and Culture Fund, Community Transport Fund and North Norfolk Sustainable Communities Fund have met twice, where grants of £6,500, £40,000, and £163,000 to support a range of community groups and organisations have been agreed.
North Norfolk Sustainable Communities Fund
More than £163,000 has been awarded during 2020 to 2021 supporting 22 Community Groups and Organisations.
The panel of the new refocused North Norfolk Sustainable Communities Fund (formerly the Big Society Fund) has met three times during 2020 and 2021, whereby grants of over £163,000 have been agreed to support a wide range of community groups and organisations.

The worthy local causes which benefited from these latest rounds of funding include:
|Aldborough Community Centre||£10,000||The upgrade of the fire protection system of the Centre.|
|Bradfield Cricket Club||£10,000||To replace the existing, badly damaged and degraded training facilities (nets).|
|Briston Parish Council||£9,153||Play Area for the Plantation Hill Estate in Briston. To purchase 3 pieces of play equipment and seats to be cited on the area. The area will also include a sensory garden.|
|Cromer Green Spaces||£2,097||The tools, equipment and protective clothing for a new environmental community venture.|
|Fakenham Wensum Scout Group||£13,000||The replacement double glazed windows and doors in the Scout building.|
|Fulmodeston Old School Hall||£4,200||The refurbishment of the small hall.|
|Hanworth with Gunton Memorial Hall||£8500||To purchase and install solar panels on the roof of the timber extension on the west-facing roof of the hall and insulate this part of the building, which currently has no insulation.|
|Hawk and Owl Trust||£5000||To provide a practical horticultural and green care experience regularly for local people with mental or physical health issues or learning difficulties.|
|Helhoughton Parish Council||£13,661||A custom designed climbing apparatus, monkey bars and slide.|
|Higginbottom Recreation Trust||£15,000||Park4All specifically for the 3rd phase of the project. Installation of accessible play equipment|
|Hindolveston Village Hall||£8,500||Refurbishment of the kitchen as part of the Transformation of the Hall project|
|Hoveton Community Café||£2,545||To purchase a range of catering equipment to outfit the newly refurbished Community Café.|
|Kettlestone Parish Council||£1,755||To replace the old bus shelter with a similar structure to have a dual purpose usage for the Book Swap Project and bus shelter for school children.|
|Little Snoring Parish Council||£3,600||To purchase a basketball hoop and two spring rockers.|
|Ludham Parochial Church Council||£5,000||The installation of toilets in St Catherine’s Church, Ludham. Part of the The 21st Century - at Last project.|
|North Walsham Play||£4,800||Contribution towards the Skate Park Redevelopment at Trackside (off Norwich Road/Bypass), North Walsham.|
|North Walsham Phoenix Group||£15,000||The creation of a Youth and Community Space in North Walsham providing a meeting place for different groups, in the evenings the ground floor space will be for youth use providing a safe environment where they will be encouraged to meet and take part in organised activities.|
|North Walsham Rugby Football Club Ltd||£5,000||Upgrade of existing Floodlights on Pitch 2 at Scottow Park.|
|Potter Heigham Playing Field and Village Hall||£10,000||To prepare the facility for the purchase and installation of 32 solar panels and an 800W Three Phase Hybrid Inverter.|
|Runton Football Club||£2,000||Seed funding to establish a football club to play on East Runton Playing field.|
|Sculthorpe Village Hall||£1,000||The installation of Broadband/Wi-Fi in the hall and the purchase of a laptop and iPad.|
|Sea Palling and Waxham Village Hall||£10,000||The removal of the existing roof containing asbestos sheets and replace it with new roof slates and insulation.|
|Skeyton Parish Council||£648||Contribution towards a defibrillator.|
|St Seraphim’s Trust||£9,735.94||The installation of a cabin in the quiet gardens as part of the Headspace project.|
|Stalham Men’s Shed||£6,000||The purchase of equipment, PPE and safety equipment for the newly set up club.|
|Sutton Parochial Church Council (PCC)||£10,000||The installation of an accessible toilet and kitchenette.|
|Swanton Abbott Trustees of the Poor Lands & Charities||£6,500||To regenerate the Common and Pond.|
|Treehouse Café, Holt||£6,760||To purchase a Yurt and internal furnishings for the Wellbeing at the Treehouse project.|
|Wells Coastwatch NCI||£7,500||Towards a replacement Coastwatch building.|
|West Raynham Village Hall||£10,000||Upgrading of village hall facilities - upgrading of the halls current heating system to an infrared system plus additional loft insulation, installation of WiFi and AV system.|

|Extraordinary Lives||£2,500||The creation of a Natural Wonder Poetry Tool Kit that will help residents produce their own public poems and works inspired by connection to the natural world.|
|North Norfolk Writers Group||£2,000||Promoting further learning, mutual support and combating isolation among its members.|
