The prior consent of the Local Planning Authority may be required to carry out any work to a tree.
Trees may be protected in the following ways:
- By being protected through a Tree Preservation Order - To find out if a tree, or trees, are subject to an Order, please search the Trees Online Register
- By being located within a Conservation Area - Find out if your property is within a conservation area.
- By way of a planning condition imposed on a Planning Approval - To check the planning history on your property, please search the Planning Public Access system
- By way of a Felling License - The felling of woodlands or large numbers of trees may require a license from the Forestry Commission
Please note the prior consent of the Local Planning Authority may be required to carry out any tree work.
