Budget Proposals - Your Questions Answered

Budget Q and A - What Do You Think?

The Government defines major developments as follows:

  • ten or more dwellings;
  • housing sites of 0.5 hectares and over;
  • buildings with over 1000 square metres floor space
  • developments carried out on a site having an area 1 hectare or more;

The Council's Statement of Community Involvement was approved in January 2016. The Council encourages discussion between the developer and the public before an application for any major development is made.  The Council also expects the developer to support such applications with statements explaining what community consultation has been done, the outcome of consultations and any amendments made to the scheme as a result.

The most recent pre-application details for major developments are listed below:

Proposed Developments

West Raynham, former RAF Base, Amended Development Brief (May 2016)

North Norfolk District Council have received an amended proposed Development Brief (May 2016) for the former RAF base at West Raynham site submitted on behalf of FW Properties by Lanpro Services.

The amended Development Brief sets out FW Properties’ overall vision for the site including conversion and re-use of existing buildings and erection of new buildings.

The District Council, as Local Planning Authority, is seeking to carry out a consultation with the public and statutory consultees with a view to considering whether to adopt the proposed Design Brief (either with or without further modifications).

The Development Brief is not a formal Planning Application but is a mechanism by which future development proposals at the site can be assessed.

Any comments/observations should be sent to the District Council under ref: DB/15/0001 using the email planning@north-norfolk.gov.uk
