Funding for an exciting, new purpose-built sports facility in Cromer featuring three indoor tennis courts for use by the public, members of the Cromer Lawn Tennis and Squash Association and students of Cromer Academy was approved by Full Council in December 2017.
The facility has been designed to include a 25 station gym with an area for free weights and fitness, changing rooms, toilets, a reception area, a social area and viewing gallery, and a versatile space for fitness classes, social activities and meetings.
The main facility will be built in Cromer and will serve a wide geographical area. As part of the project and the proposed funding agreements, a number of satellite tennis centres have been identified in the North Norfolk district for improvements. This ‘tennis network’ is made up of Wells Town Tennis Club, Alderman Peel High School, Fakenham Sports Centre (The Gallow) and North Walsham High School/dual use sports centre.
It is expected that the facility will open in Spring 2019.
A useful frequently asked questions sheet has been created and should tell you all you need to know about this exciting project.
