On 6 February this year Her Majesty the Queen became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. She marked 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

The United Kingdom has a great tradition of communities coming together to celebrate national events. Thousands of people across the country took part in street parties for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and the Queen's 90th Birthday in 2016.

Events and initiatives will take place throughout the year as we celebrate this remarkable anniversary. The celebrations will culminate in a four-day bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June 2022. The bank holiday will allow communities and people across the United Kingdom to come together and celebrate the historic milestone.

View the government's platinum jubilee website for more information about events and how to get involved.
