Equality

Have Your Say
North Norfolk District Council aims to treat people fairly, justly and with respect in both employment and service provision. We also aim to find ways to support those groups who are disadvantaged or excluded and promote inclusivity and celebrate diversity. To this end we have drafted a Combined Equality Scheme which seeks to improve equality for residents and staff on the grounds of Ethnicity, Disability, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Age and Faith and belief.

We are consulting staff, councillors, statutory agencies, members of the voluntary and community sector and residents on this draft scheme to ensure that it clearly and accurately sets out:

  • Why the Combined Equality Scheme is required.
  • How Equalities is managed within the District Council.
  • The equality issues for North Norfolk.
  • An action plan which adequately address the key equality issues.

The consultation period runs from 15th August - 10th October and we would like to hear your views on the scheme. A copy of the Draft Combined Equality Scheme is available to view / download below along with details of the consultation and how to submit your comments and opinions.
