Sea Change Funding Programme
Sea Change is a capital grants programme of £45m over three years given to Local Authorities, which must be match funded, aminimum of 50% for grants up to £1m, and a minimum of 100% over £2m. It is managed by the Commission for Architecutre and the Built Environment (CABE).
The fundin is for a range of cultural, heritage or public space projects including but not limited to theartes, museums, libraries, galleries, archives, outdoor performance spaces, landscapes, or projects which promote new forms of cultural engagement.
Who will get the funding
- Annual large grants to commissioned local authorities of between £2m & £4m
- Annual open application grants of between £200,000 & £1m
- Their priority is to invest in the most deprived seaside resorts in England and in the best quality applications.
The aims and objectives of the progamme
To use cluture to make a sifference to seaside resorts, constributing to sustainable, social and economic regeneration.
- To back investment plans for seaside resorts in culture, heritage and public space, which would act as a catalyst to support regeneration of the resort.
- To boost confidence and pride in the local community.
- To share learning between local authorities and other partners exploring ways to support seaside resoruts via culture and heritage.
- To ensure that our investment is matched by other partners so we maximise the benfits of funding.
