Neighbourhood Plan Progress
Holt Town Council submitted their emerging Neighbourhood Plan for Pre-submission consultation between 11 January to 23 February 2018. This was the first formal consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan and provided an opportunity for engagement with the public and service providers in order to help shape a robust and effective plan proposal.
The feedback from this consultation exercise is being used to develop a final Neighbourhood Plan for submission and examination by an appointed, independent planning inspector. Once the final Draft is submitted the Council will publicise the draft Plan, invite representations in a six-week period of public consultation, and send the representations received and the draft Plan to the examiner.
If the draft Plan is approved by the Inspector the next stage is to put the plan, incorporating the inspectors recommendations, to a public referendum. If accepted then the draft neighbourhood Plan must be “made” by the Council within 8 week period following the referendum. Once made the Neighbourhood Plan will form part of the district-wide planning framework and become a material consideration (must be taken into account) in the consideration of future planning applications in the Neighbourhood Plan Area.
