Holt Neighbourhood Plan
Neighbourhood Plan Progress
Holt Town Council formally submitted their final draft Neighbourhood Plan for examination on 12 September 2022. Following a six-week public consultation, the Neighbourhood Plan is now entering the examination stage.
Mr Robert Bryan has been appointed to hold an independent examination. This will look at whether the Plan meets the basic conditions needed to move forward with a public referendum. The examination starts on 9 January 2023 and should be completed within 8 to 12 weeks.

Next stages
Following the examiner's assessment, they will write a report advising if the Plan should move to the next stage of a public referendum. Some suggested changes may be needed before the referendum can go ahead. If the Plan is approved for a referendum and the community then vote in favour, the Plan must be adopted by the Council within eight weeks of the referendum.
Once the Neighbourhood Plan is made, it will form part of the district-wide planning framework. It will become a material consideration (meaning it must be taken into account) for future planning applications in the Holt Neighbourhood area.
