Celebrating the Coronation in North Norfolk
Date published: 18th April 2023
The Coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Westminster Abbey.
The Coronation will be celebrated nationwide with events happening in towns and parishes within the District across the weekend and bank holiday Monday.
To celebrate and mark the Coronation, the Council will be lighting up the Pier in red, white and blue and is gifting a Coronation bench to each of the seven major towns in the District.
This is an opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate. On a National level, the following events are happening:
- Saturday May 6 – The Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey
- Sunday May 7 – The Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle
- Sunday May 7 – The Coronation Big Lunch, which is an opportunity for neighbours and communities to share food and time together
- Monday May 8 – The Big Help Out, which is organised by The Together Coalition and partners such as the Scouts, the Royal Voluntary Service and faith groups
Parish and Town Councils, as well as groups, are also busy organising events for their communities.
For information about what is happening in your parish or town, please get in touch with your Parish Council, and check the Parish noticeboard or Facebook page to find an event near you.
