On Sunday, 85 participants competed in the second triathlon at The Reef Leisure Centre.

Organised by North Norfolk District Council in partnership with Everyone Active. The triathlon was a super sprint triathlon which involved a 300m swim in the 25m main pool, a 17km cycle route and a 3km run.

The community event saw 25% of participants complete their first triathlon, with the youngest competitor being 18 years old and the oldest 77 years old. The majority of participants were aged between 35 and 69 years old, with an almost equal split between males and females.

This type of triathlon is ideal for first-time competitors, with shorter distances than other events in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great way to get into the sport.

The fastest overall finish time was 45 minutes 54 seconds.

Awards were given to the fastest overall male and female competitors and the fastest athletes in each 10-year age category. The overall winners were:

Among the participants, the Council would like to celebrate 77-year-old Frank Reader, who completed the triathlon with determination in 2 hours and 15 minutes raising money for charity. Frank also completed the Victory triathlon in North Walsham in June this year where he raised over £1000 for cancer charities.
