Development briefs and master plans

A development brief provides policy-based detail for a specific site, outlining constraints, design principles, and requirements to steer proposals.

In contrast to a development brief, a master plan is a broader, visual, and strategic framework for a larger area. This shows the envisaged layouts, infrastructure, and phasing to deliver an overall vision. The development brief sets rules for one site, while the masterplan illustrates how an entire area should be developed over time. 

The following development briefs have been approved and will be used to consider applications on the site:

• Land West of North Walsham
