North Norfolk District Council, as the Local Planning Authority for North Norfolk, gives notice of its intention to commence Local Plan preparation. This notice is prepared and published in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 (Regulation 19).
Title of the Local Plan
The new plan will be called the 'North Norfolk Local Plan 2029 to 2045'. The Local Plan will not cover minerals and waste as Norfolk County Council is the planning authority for these matters.
Geographical area the plan will cover
The Plan will cover the administrative area of North Norfolk District Council, ONS E07000147, but does not include the Broads Authority Executive Area.
Where the Local Plan timetable can be viewed
The published timetable can be found on our Local Plan timetable webpage. It is also available for inspection during normal office hours at the Council's office: Holt Road, Cromer, NR27 9EN. Please contact us in advance if you wish to view this.
The Council expects to pass through Gateway 1 and formally begin the 30-month plan preparation process by 31 October 2026.
This notice will remain available for public inspection for the duration of the Local Plan preparation and for at least 3 months following its adoption.
