Anyone who has a contract with North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) for removal of waste from their premises will receive a Duty of Care, Waste Transfer Note. This is required under law and should be retained for a period of two years from its expiry date.
The Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011 require the inclusion of the 2007 Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code of the person transferring the waste on the waste transfer note.
You can download a list of the most common SIC codes here. Please ensure that you include the SIC code relevant to your business/organisation on your waste transfer note and return a copy of this to NNDC. As an example, a bank would use code 64191, whilst a holiday home rental would use code 55209.
A full list of codes is available on the Companies House Website
