There is less than one month until the Mammoth Marathon comes to North Norfolk. The event will see over 1,000 runners completing either a full marathon or a half marathon.

This event will take place on Sunday, 15 May, starting in Sea Palling for the full marathon and Mundesley for the half marathon, with both races finishing at Sheringham High School.

There is some important safety information to be noted for this event, including road closures in Mundesley and Sea Palling.

Road Closures in Mundesley (start of the half marathon)

A section of Beach Road and Paston Road will be closed for a short time on Sunday 15 May.

7.30am  – soft closure/access only commences

8:00am - 8.30am  – coach transfers arrive, drop off point at the bus stop outside of Gold Park

7.30am - 9.10am  – runners are held at starting village and surrounding areas

9.10am  – hard closure commences (no access) and runners are called to the start line to get in their pens

9.30am  – race starts

10:00am  – road closure reopened apart from pinch point on the corner of Beach Road and Paston Road

1:00pm  – pinch point reopened and all road closures end

Parking will be free for the day on Gold Park Field to encourage spectators to watch the start and the full marathon runners coming through and to support local businesses. Please note that cars must be parked before the road closure begins at 9:10am.

Road Closures in Sea Palling (start of the full marathon)

A section of Clink Road and Beach Road will be closed for a short time on Sunday, 15 May.

7.30am   soft closure/access only commences

7.30am - 9.10am  – runners held at starting village

9.10am  – hard closure commences (no access) and runners are called to the start line to get in their pens

9.30am  – race starts

10:00am  – road closure reopened

Parking on Clink Road Car Park will be free for the start of the event to encourage spectators to watch the start and support the local businesses. Please note that cars must be parked before the road closure begins at 9:10am.
